Abstract

This article reflects on the act of reappropriation of  Soledades by Luis de Góngora as a “classic”. It is my aim to observe how the authorial ethos, a concept drawn from Dominique Maingueneau, is recreated through various forms of transcription and reinterpretation, in artistic proposals that take different aspects of his work, be it thematic, formal (stylistic), or related to the figure of its creator. Therefore, I address pieces of electronic literature and sound art that have been created in homage to this poet of the Golden Age. In the light of Gongora’s work, I focus on the traits that have left their mark, after five centuries, in contemporary intermedial art. In this context, I examine artistic practices that, through diverse media and formats, expand the literary text into hybrid configurations involving visual, sonic, and performative dimensions. These approaches make it possible to analyze how the experimental and hermetic qualities of Soledades are reactivated in works that reinterpret its content and question the materiality of the text and its reading protocols. From this perspective, reappropriation is understood as a dynamic process that renews the place of the classic within contemporary culture, while revealing the persistence and transformation of Gongorine ethos across time and media.
