Buenos Aires Tour: nuevas maneras de leer la ciudad
Main Article Content
Abstract
Buenos Aires Tour (2003), a collective art work created by the visual artist Claudio Macchi, the writer María Negroni, and sound artist Eduardo Rudnitzky, presents a complex and fascinating interartistic network which highlights the city as
its main theme. The approach offered here will reveal some of the strategies used by the different artists in order to create a text which allows us to experience the Argentinean capital from a rarely considered point of view. By collecting samples, tokens and notes, even of the most insignificant detail acknowledged in those public urban spaces condemned to neglect, abandonment and anonymity
—these non lieux—, this artwork not only invites us to make a multiple, open and intermedial tour, but it also learns us to read and interpret the urban essence and its referents in a different way.
