The Reflection on Gender in Plato: An Ontological Thought on Identity and Difference

Abstract
Philosopher Simone de Beauvoir was one of the first to observe and to criticize, within philosophical discourses, monistic approaches from which the feminine presents itself as absence or negativity. However, in Plato, I find traces of an ontological vision that escapes a monistic or dualistic determination of Being and that allows for an understanding of gender in terms of equality and difference.
