Theoría. Revista del Colegio de Filosofía began in July of 1993. The pages of this journal safeguard the voices of the founding members of the Department of Philosophy and the generations that preceded them. Reading this journal, any student or researcher can get a good notion of the research being made in Mexico in the past 25 years. Furthermore, the journal has hosted the writings of philosophers from universities all around the country and some from other Latin-American and European countries. Some former Editorial Directors include Carlos Pereda, Lizbeth Sagols, Crescenciano Grave, Ricardo Horneffer, Ambrosio Velasco and Carlos Oliva. When looking at its more than 37 numbers, one can see how these former directors have successfully promoted the many voices that comprise the Department of Philosophy and other university backgrounds by focusing on the quality and relevance of the texts. This commitment is the journal’s most important trait, which is why we consider it the journal’s primary objective. Because of this, this journal is devoted to the pressing task of exploring new themes and issues to shed light on the many problems of the new era, such as global devastation, intolerance, and the disappearance of culture. Ultimately, philosophy aims to oppose destruction by awakening critical thought and promoting exchange, connection, and openness. Many of the pages included in this journal were written by the very founders of the Department of Philosophy, Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez, José Ignacio Palencia, Bolívar Echeverría, Ricardo Guerra, Graciela Hierro, whose thoughts have thrived and can now influence new readers. With the publication of its 36th number, Theoría. Revista del Colegio de Filosofía begins a new phase with the implementation of its OJS webpage, which we expect will become a referent for academics worldwide.
